KANSAS CITY – For the second time this season, Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball player Kyle Mangas is your NAIA Player of the Week! This is the second time this season the junior has received the award and third time in his career.

Mangas scored 35 points and drilled the game-winner in an 87-85 win at No. 18 Grace for No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan and added 33 points in a 97-84 win at No. 11 Bethel. The Warsaw, Indiana native averaged, 34.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.0 assists while shooting 57.8 percent from the floor last week.

On the season Mangas is averaging, 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 56% from the floor and 40% from deep. Voted the best player in the Crossroads League four times this season, Mangas currently sits Top-5 in the Crossroads League in points-per-game (1st), points scored (1st), field goal percentage (5th), steals (1st), assists (4th), and double-doubles (4th).

When it comes to the NAIA, Mangas is one of eight players who are averaging at least 20 points-per-game while shooting 50% from the field. He is just one of two players in the NAIA scoring at least 25 points-per-game while shooting 50% from the field.


The Wildcats host their 11th Top-25 team tonight, welcoming No.6 Mount Vernon Nazarene to town. The Cougars handed the Wildcats their only loss in League play this season back on November 26, 2019. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with IWU looking to run their win streak to 11 straight.
