BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The No. 24 Indiana University South Bend women’s basketball team rolled past No. 20 Olivet Nazarene, 80-58, avenging its loss to “Tigerball” that occurred back on Nov. 16, 2019 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11, inside the McHie Arena. With the victory, the Titans move to 18-1 overall, including 10-1 in league play.

IU South Bend led wire-to-wire in Saturday’s top-25 showdown in Bourbonnais, Ill. as the Titans began the game on an 8-0 run, moving their record on the road to a perfect 9-0 and a 2-1 record over ranked opponents this season.
Three different Titans scored in double figures, including a game-high 15 points from freshman Maddie Gard off 6-of-13 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. Senior Kyleigh Kubik added 14 points, five assists and three rebounds while freshman Katie Gard scored 11 points.
Senior Taylor Wesley made the most of her minutes after coming off the bench to score eight points in the final minutes off 3-of-4 shooting from the field.
For the game, Indiana University South Bend went 31-for-68 from the floor (45.6 percent) and 11-of-28 from distance (39.3 percent). IUSB at the free throw line, converted 7-of-11 freebies for a 63.6 percent clip. On the flip side, the Titan defense held the Tigers to 20-of-62 from the floor and just 7-of-28 from beyond the three-point line.
IU South Bend held a 38-36 advantage on the glass and dished out 20 assists to ONU’s 11. The Titans forced 18 turnovers and turned the miscues into 17 points, while the IUSB’s bench outscored Olivet Nazarene’s 31-19.
The Titans return home to welcome Trinity Christian College on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Tip inside the Student Activities Center is slated for 5:30 p.m.
